A team of enthusiastic volunteers who put together a fundraising ceilidh night are celebrating a success story.

Liz Burton led the team from the Hitchin Carers’ Café who put together the event at Ickleford Village Hall which attracted a crowd of more than 100 ready to dance the night away to the music of Cyriacs, take a chance on the lucky dip and tuck into a ploughman’s supper.

Liz said “My team of fundraisers have been amazing and it looks like we have raised £1,400 providing much-needed funds for this worthy local charity.”

The café sessions are held at Christchurch in Bedford Road, Hitchin, on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 10am to noon, to help those caring for loved ones to have a break and share with others who know the difficulties they face.
