Police are releasing CCTV images of a man after a theft from a shop in Letchworth on Saturday.

The theft happened at around 1.20pm when a man stole a small metal sign from the The Green House on Station Road. Staff members pursued the man as he ran down Station Road, but he got away and was last seen heading into The Wynd.

Jenny Jones of The Green House said: “The message I want to get out there is that I have seven CCTV cameras. So if anyone tries anything like this again, they will get caught.”

PCSO Martin Barringer said: “We would like to trace the man pictured as he may be able to help us with our investigation. I would appeal for anyone who recognises him to get in touch. I would also like to hear from anyone who saw what happened to contact me.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
