Cash stolen from Stevenage newsagents in robbery

Cash was stolen from a Stevenage newsagents during a robbery this morning.

Police were called to Albert Street at about 9.30am after reports of a man walking into Ask Stores with his face covered and threatening the shopkeeper.

A quantity of cash was handed over and it is believed the man headed off in the direction of Victoria Close.

The shopkeeper was not injured.

Police enquiries are ongoing at this stage.
