A HUGE county lottery set up to benefit charities and participants alike has been launched.
The lottery, Luckyherts, will have cash prizes as well as a BMW Mini One Seven. Money from every ticket purchased will raise funds for Hertfordshire charities, clubs and communities, and to help start-up companies.
David Fitzpatrick, chief executive of Hertfordshire Community Foundation explained: "Raising money for charity nowadays is terribly difficult.
"Everyone has more and more calls on what money they have, government, businesses and people alike.
"Luckyherts tries to address at least some of that problem by giving people the chance to get lucky themselves and by ensuring that a guaranteed amount of every pound they spend goes to good local causes."
* Tickets for the Luckyherts lottery are available from www.playluckyherts.co.uk and cost £1 each. The first draw will take place tomorrow (September 8) live on Hertbeat FM. Draws will be weekly from then onwards.
