ORGANISERS of the Biggleswade Carnival say this year's event will be bigger and better then ever.
Now in its 50th year, the carnival will have a whole host of events starting on June 18 and finishing on July 1 with a grand parade through the town.
There is likely to be a record number of floats in the parade and the list of events taking place around the town is growing all the time and it is still not too late to stage an event or take part in the parade.
"It has been all hands to the pump by the carnival committee," said carnival chairman Jim Brady who has been involved in the preparation of the event for the past 23 years.
"The police have been fantastic helping us all the way to make sure everything is safe and being done properly.
"But we have had so many more people get in touch and say they want to be part of the event so there will be more floats this year
"A lot of people will be working very hard behind the scenes over the coming months to make sure this is the best Biggleswade Carnival ever."
There will be traditional events like the duck race on the River Ivel but one event that is likely to be a big attraction is the vehicle pull at the Gardener's Arms in Potton Road.
Two vehicles will be in the car park ready to be pulled along by men or women. And to cool down and relax after the vehicle pull there will be a disco and barbecue.
