Boro have received an undisclosed bid from arch rivals Woking for striker Jon Nurse.

The struggling Cards have renewed their interest in the Boro flyer after a run of just two wins in 10 games.

An earlier bid was rejected but a new one is believed to have been tabled this week.

Nurse enjoyed a successful loan spell at Kingfield earlier in the season but he has featured regularly in Mark Stimson's side on his return to Broadhall Way.

Woking boss Glenn Cockerill admitted: "We are trying to sign Nursey although Mark (Stimson) thinks what we've offered won't be enough to satisfy his chairman (Phil Wallace). We'll just have to wait and see."

If the deal does go through, it would mean Nurse going on loan for a month before finalising the move in the January transfer window.

It would also mean George Boyd, Steve Morison and the out-of-favour Tony Thorpe as the only forwards at the club with the experienced Darryn Stamp loaned out to York. Youngsters Chris Sullivan and Hector Mackie have also been loaned out this season.

Boro will look to improve on their record of just one away win all season whey they travel to Kidderminster Harriers this Saturday.

They will be on a high after Saturday's 1-0 win at home to Stimson's former side Grays Athletic.

Winger Steve Guppy, who played in the reserves last week, may make his return from a long-term injury for the game.

Former Boro winger Michael Blackwood is now playing left-back for the home side.

Boro's youth team were hosting Leyton Orient in the FA Youth Cup at Broadhall Way last night (Wednesday).
