A YOUNG woman was escaped injury when her car left the road between Potton and Sandy at Deepdale on Tuesday night and ended up on its roof in a ditch.

Firefighters from Sandy attended the incident close to the turning to Sutton but the woman, who is believed to have been from Sandy, was freed from the wreckage of the Ford Fiesta by police officers.

Police say the incident did not lead to the road being closed but the car was not removed from the ditch until the following morning.
