A car ended up on a bank after flipping over on the A505 between Baldock and Royston.

Emergency services were called to the Baldock Bypass at about 5pm after a red Ford Fiesta left the carriageway.

A man who was trapped in the car was released by the fire service – without using cutting equipment – and taken to Lister Hospital in Stevenage to be treated for his injuries.

The road was closed for about an hour while the incident was dealt with.
