A car has smashed through the front of a popular town centre restaurant in Hitchin this morning – leaving bystanders ‘stunned’.
A grey Ford Focus crashed through the front of Café Rouge on High Street around 9.45am.
An eyewitness at the scene said: “The car went straight into the front window.
“I am absolutely stunned. You don’t expect something like this to happen in Hitchin.
“I just hope no-one’s injured.”
There are no details of injuries at this time. More to follow.
