A major road in Stevenage is closed this afternoon after a head-on crash involving a car and a bin lorry.
Police told the Comet they were called at 1.49pm to reports of a crash between black BMW and a tipper truck in Six Hills Way, just outside St Nicholas Primary School.
Officers called the fire service to the scene because the BMW was smoking.
Both firefighters and police remain at the scene, and officers have put a road closure in place where Six Hills Way meets Valley Way.
“At this stage there don’t appear to be any injuries,” a police spokeswoman said.
