CrossFit Beowulf hosted the family charity day, complete with an obstacle course for adults and children, training and refreshments.

Participants – 32 adults and 10 children – cooled down from their workouts by bidding for top prizes on offer in the auction.

Organiser Teresa Bezeck said: “It was a great success with 24 local businesses donating prizes for the raffle, which included sports massages, personal training sessions, cinema tickets and security systems.

“The total amount raised was £736.50

“Winners on the day were Spencer and Lewis Bevan, a team of two brothers.

“The Dirty Vikings are a team that exist purely to raise money for Cancer Research UK by completing a variety of strength and endurance events throughout the year.

“They chose Cancer Research UK because all of the founding members has lost friends or relatives to different types of cancer.”
