With national Men’s Health Week just around the corner, the team at Macmillan Cancer Support are hitting the road to spread the word.

And their mobile team will be stopping off in Letchworth on Friday to encourage men to be cancer aware and highlight symptoms which nobody should ignore.

The Letchworth session will be in Leys Square, between WH Smith and Esquires coffee shop, from 10am to 4pm when the Macmillan team will provide free, confidential, support to anyone with a concern or a question relating to cancer.

The charity’s Jeanette Eason said: “We want to encourage men to talk to someone if they have any concerns.

“Men often put off going to the doctor maybe because they don’t want to make a fuss, and perhaps ignore any potential symptoms with the hope they’ll go away.

“However, the earlier cancer is found, the more likely it is to be cured.

“We are also here for anyone who has any questions or worries about any aspect and type of cancer, whether it’s about you, a relative or friend, come on board the bus and talk to us.”
