The Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage is searching for young talent to take part in its summer musical, Annie, the heart-warming tale of an orphan and her adventures.

Left in an orphanage run by the wicked Miss Hannigan, Annie gets a taste of an easier life outside when she is invited for a short stay at millionaire Daddy Warbucks' mansion.

After her return to the orphanage, she escapes and her life is transformed when she is adopted by the millionaire.

Youngsters are being given the opportunity to gain crucial experience of the stage and work alongside BBC's 'Allo 'Allo star Vicki Michelle who will play Miss Hannigan.

Three audition dates are to be held for the show:

* Auditions for the part of Annie on June 1. Applicants must be girls aged eight to 15.

* Auditions for the ensemble on June 2. Applicants must be girls aged eight to 15.

* Auditions for principal roles (excluding Annie) on June 3. Applicants can be either male or female, but must be aged 16 or over.

All applicants must be within the specified age range at the start of rehearsals on July 30 and able to commit to rehearsals and performance dates from July 30 to August 18.

State which audition you wish to attend, mark the envelope 'Auditions' and ask your parent or guardian to sign if you are under 18.

The closing date for applications is May 23.
