Stevenage have been handed a potentially tricky away trip to either Lincoln City or Wigan Athletic in the FA Youth Cup third round should they beat Cambridge United after the draw was made earlier today (Friday).
Boro’s youngsters travel to the U’s in the second round next Wednesday (November 18) looking for a second successive away win in the competition.
They saw off Ryman League Division North side Aveley 3-0 in the first round under the watchful eye of former Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and England hitman Teddy Sheringham earlier this month.
Cambridge progressed in similarly efficient fashion, overpowering Hayes and Yeading 5-0 at the Abbey Stadium.
Stevenage lost at the third round stage last season, going down 2-1 at home to Premier League Everton at the Lamex Stadium.
