Firefighters in North Herts had a busy start to the new year last night as they tackled a garage blaze in Hitchin and a car fire in Knebworth.
Hitchin and Stevenage crews rushed to the home in Uplands Avenue after being called at 12.50am, and found the garage ‘well alight’ on arrival.
They used a jet and hosereel to put the fire out.
Shortly after 3am, Stevenage firefighters were mobilised again to deal with a ‘car well alight’ in Knebworth’s Park Lane.
A hosereel was used to quickly tackle the blaze.
