An international packaging firm with its UK base in Stevenage is set to gain a 97,500-sq-ft distribution depot in Biggleswade.
Logistics developer Gazeley has signed agreements to deliver the new facility for Zeus Packaging at G-Park, next to the A1 on the southern edge of the town’s Stratton Business Park, as well as a 105,000-sq-ft speculative development on the adjacent plot.
Both units are set to be ready by August this year, with an access route from Pegasus Drive completed by March. This will create a further 350,000 sq ft of build-to-suit space at G-Park.
The site will boast sustainability features including rainwater harvesting, LED lighting and cooling provided air-source heat pumps.
Central Beds Council drew up a local development order for Stratton Business Park in 2015 that enables certain developments without planning permission. The authority says this helps ensure businesses stay in Biggleswade.
