A Stevenage music studio that was inadvertently flooded with raw sewage is now all cleaned up and back in business.
Thames Water apologised to SoundView Studios owner Carl Dawson in June, after contractors clearing drains sent a filthy deluge up through the studio’s toilet.
Carl had been worried the cost of getting everything sorted out might force him out of business.
But the Wedgwood Way studio now has a top-to-bottom refurbishment, and Carl told the Comet it was great to be back enjoying the music and banter.
“Many bands have told me it’s like coming home,” he said. “They’ve also told me how they have missed the air conditioning, since apparently other studios don’t have any.
“I’ve also got some new equipment and carried out some more acoustic treatment of the rooms. All in all, it’s newer and better than before.
“If you’ve never been here, feel free to pop down and have a look – book a rehearsal, recording, lesson, party or whatever else you fancy.”
