Staff at a Sandy-based housebuilder are celebrating after their firm won a prestigious health and safety award.

Kier Living Eastern, based at Tempsford Hall off Station Road, has achieved the highest accolade for health and safety performance, namely the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents’ gold award for 2017.

Gold medals are presented to organisations that sustain high standards over consecutive years, with the 2017 award recognising performance during the 2016 calendar year.

Kier Living Eastern managing director Nick Moore said: “It is a fantastic achievement to be recognised for sustaining extremely high standards of health and safety performance and we are incredibly proud to have been singled out by RoSPA.

“It is proof that Kier Living Eastern is leading the way when it comes to committing to all aspects of health and safety performance.”

Judges for the awards considered entrants’ occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

The award was achieved during a special year for the RoSPA charity, which marked its centenary last year.
