Vision Express is now on Hitchin High Street after its new shop was opened by Mellissa Yeupiksang and her 11-year-old son, Kyle, who were representing Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT).
Kyle was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma aged eight and his treatment involved the removal of his left eye. Following support from CHECT, he is a dedicated fundraiser for the charity.
Last year Vision Express employees and customers raised £105,000 for CHECT, and the new Hitchin store team will be tasked with a fund-raising target of £1,000 over the next 12 months.
Store director Ash Shah said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer a high standard of individual care to the local community from our new store, and it was fantastic to welcome Mellissa and Kyle to help us celebrate our opening day.”
