A new event to help businesses grow takes place next month with free advice from a range of professionals.

The first Link Local Business Growth Show will be held on Tuesday May 17 at Holiday Inn, Stevenage. Free to attend, the event is being organised by Stevenage-based business professionals including Streets Chartered Accountants, Applied IT and, with support of Hertfordshire Chamber and The Comet, aims to provide a boost to business in the area.

Event organiser Sam Kemp of Streets said: “The idea for the event came about having recognised that in these challenging times businesses not only welcome the opportunity to network with like-minded enterprises, but also that they welcome support and advice in dealing with varied business issues they face. In particular, there appears to be a real need to access advice around growing and developing a business in these difficult times.”

In a break from the more conventional business-to-business exhibitions, Link Local provides delegates with the opportunity to attend free business advice clinics on a host of topics ranging from accounting and tax, IT, legal advice, human resources, website and search engine optimisation.

Along with the clinics there will an array of exhibitors including local banks, business support organisations and providers on hand to provide support to those looking to start, or already run a business. As an incentive to those attending there will be a free draw with a chance to win a special bundle of business support worth up to 1,000. The bundle will include a mix of products and services with Streets donating a SAGE accounting programme.
