An open day was held to mark the launch of a new business.

Owners, of Letchworth Mobility on Openshaw Way, Andy Watson and Liz Freeman opened their doors to members of the public on Saturday with Colin Chatfield, chairman for the garden city’s Heritage Foundation, doing the honour of cutting the ribbon and welcoming the new business to the town. Entertaining the crowd was jazz and folk duo Ain’t Misbehavin.

The couple had an excellent response to a competition that they ran in the Comet, which offered readers the chance of winning an ST1 boot scooter. The winner was Amanda Brewerton, who suffers from joint pain and muscle weakness. Ms Brewerton will be sharing the scooter with her friend Gill Smith who has spinabifida.

The business partners would like to thank all the entrants and all that attended on opening day.
