A delegation of business experts from ten countries came to Stevenage this month to learn about the region’s expertise in IT and software technologies.

The delegation of 22 trade and investment officers visited the Fujitsu Data Centre, opened in 2008 at a cost of 44m, as part of a fact-finding mission organised by the East of England Development Agency.

The 65,000 square foot Fujitsu site offers business computer and data storage, including the new generation of ‘cloud computing’ applications.

Brian Hyland, head of business development at the inward investment arm of the agency, said: “The delegation was very impressed with what they heard and saw during the visit and will now be in a much better position to promote the region to companies in the countries they represent to help attract investment here.”
