Apprentices from Stevenage-based defence firm MBDA have been inspiring the next generation of engineers.
The group designed, built and ran a ‘have a go’ stall at the World Skills 2011 competition at the ExCel Centre in London last week giving schoolchildren and college students a chance to design a missile, tackle electronics and use robots.
Apprentice Laura Chapman from Baldock said: “Being hands on is an important aspect of our apprentice programme and designing and then working on the MBDA stand at World Skills has been a really good example of that approach to learning.”
