AFTER just two years of trading, a Stevenage businessman Graeme Mulheron has been presented with Cash Generator's prestigious Franchisee of the Year award for 2009.

After opening his first store in Luton in 2007 and achieving excellent results, Mr Mulheron bought an existing store in Stevenage 18 months later and they are regarded as the best run stores in the country.

Julian Urry, managing director of Cash Generator, presented the award at the company's recent annual general meeting. He commented: "At Cash Generator, we are dedicated to recognising and rewarding achievement and Graeme has worked exceptionally hard to receive this accolade.

"By introducing structure, discipline and employee development programmes, Graeme has developed a strong team at both stores but ultimately it is his personal passion for his business and drive for perfection that has made him a most worthy winner of Franchisee of the Year 2009."

In addition to Franchisee of the Year, Mr Mulheron and his teams were also recognised in two further areas, receiving first prize in the Customer Service category for the Best Mystery Shopping Result and runner-up in the New Store of the Year category for Stevenage.

Mr Mulheron commented: "I am surprised and honoured to receive these three awards just two years after starting my business. I would like to thank my team at both stores for their hard work and commitment in helping me with this great achievement."

Mr Mulheron continues to develop his business and has plans for a third Cash Generator store in the pipeline.
