Two prime ministers, Michael Jackson and a division of blue beefeaters took over Stevenage town centre to celebrate the opening of a hi-tech bank last week.
The Forum was overrun with ‘celebrities’ on Friday to mark the opening of the new futuristic-looking Barclays in the town.
Shoppers were drawn into the carnival atmosphere as comedians and dancers took over the street, while Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland did the honours and cut the ribbon to officially open the new branch.
Mr McPartland said: “I welcome the investment they are making in our community. The technology is absolutely fantastic and really does fit in with our ambition for an improved town centre.”
