A thrift store has created 50 new jobs in a town centre.

Home Bargains, which brands itself as ‘Top Brands at Bottom Prices’ opened a new store in Stevenage on Saturday.

The company, which has over 200 shops in the UK including 30 former Woolworths sites, said they have invested 500,000 in the former Lidl store in The Forum Centre. The company specialises in cut-price household, homeware and health and beauty products as well as sweets, snacks and alcohol.

Joe Morris, operations director, said: “Home Bargains is excited to be opening this new store in Stevenage, building further on the success across the UK. The Forum Centre will be a great location for us - we’re thrilled to be in a position to offer local people even more top branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”
