Hitchin-based steel window specialists have helped create a charity centre for foster youngsters that will feature on BBC One’s DIY SOS.
Crittall Fabrications, based off Wilbury Way in Hillgate, supported the construction of a support centre serving the Swansea area by donating doors and a large fixed-steel window.
The DIY SOS team had 11 days to build the centre for The Roots Foundation Wales, with attached flats. The episode will be broadcast next month.
The project also included contributions from Crittall Fendor, based in the Wearside town of Washington, and Crittall Windows of Braintree.
Crittall Group managing director Stuart Judge said: “We are delighted to be again supporting the DIY SOS Big Build programme as part of this amazing project, and to be actively involved in the build for providing the facilities for this excellent charity.
“It’s great to see our products and the expertise of our teams across the Crittall Group working together, all contributing with other companies to what is a much-needed support centre for children and young people in, or leaving, foster care.”
Other firms taking part were Pyroguard, Crystal Units and Schuco – the last of which donated materials for the products made by Crittall Fabrications.
