Stevenage go into Saturday’s home Sky Bet League Two clash with their opponents, Burton Albion, unsure of the future of boss Gary Rowett.
Rowett has been given permission by second in the table Albion to speak with Championship outfit Birmingham City about their vacant manager’s position after Lee Clark was sacked on Monday.
The 40-year-old, who led Albion to the play-offs in the past two seasons, is a former Birmingham player and has been a person in demand having been approached about the same position at Blackpool earlier in the season.
