Burton Albion are in talks with Lucas Akins with a view to signing the Boro winger.
The Brewers have agreed a fee with Stevenage for the 25-year-old according to the Burton Mail, with Albion now said to be talking terms with the former Tranmere Rovers man.
Akins was recently placed on the transfer list by Boro just days after his contract was automatically extended by a year after he had reached a minimum amount of matches for the club last season.
The former Tranmere Rovers man made 31 appearances in all competitions in the 2013-14 campaign, his last coming as a substitute against Brentford on the final game of the season.
