A PLOT of land in Comet country is under the media spotlight after it was bought at auction.

The site on The Grange Estate in Letchworth GC will feature on BBC1's Homes Under The Hammer some time next year.

The programme is following the developer who successfully bid for the plot of land at auction.

It has planning permission for a three-bedroom end-of-terrace property, and the morning television show will document the building work's progress and reveal the all- important market value once it is complete.

Last week, presenters Martin Roberts and Lucy Alexander visited the Letchworth GC plot.

David Lindley, a partner of Lane & Bennetts estate agent in the town, was asked if he thought the plot was worth developing, and the pluses and minuses of this particular purchase.

Mr Lindley said: "I think it was an interesting buy because the actual plot is not big but they have certainly maximised the potential for it with the plans they have. It's going to be interesting to see what the final product looks like."

It is expected the property will take up to six months to build.
