Broken down lorry causing ‘massive tailbacks’ on major road in Hitchin

A broken down lorry on a major road is causing “massive tailbacks”.

Police received a report of a green Claas lorry at 4.24pm which has broken down on the A505 Cambridge Road, Hitchin, near the Millstream pub, heading northbound towards Letchworth GC.

Police and Hertfordshire Highways are at the scene working together to manage the traffic flow.

A vehicle recovery team has also been called to remove the lorry.

A tweet from the @RadcliffeArms said the incident was causing a “massive tailback”.
