A red Chevrolet broke down on the A602 this morning causing rush hour queues between Hitchin and Stevenage.
The car failed to start and was stuck in the middle lane at 8.40am as motorists approach the roundabout for the A1(M) Junction 8 for Stevenage.
It is now off the carriageway as the driver organises recovery of the car.
