ALL things that are bright and beautiful in Sandy were celebrated on Saturday.
Sandy Enhancement Group held its annual awards to thank those who had worked hard to make the town so visually colourful.
Dr Judy Baxter, chairman of the group, said people had worked very hard with their displays and all entries were again of a high standard.
The Best Kept Shop Front title went to Grove Road Insurance Services of Cambridge Road, which has been established in Sandy for over 20 years.
For company director John Lloyd and his son David the award was the culmination of remembering to water their hanging baskets twice a day especially during the heatwave.
"My son and I would water the baskets in the morning before we started work and again in he evening before we left," said Mr Lloyd senior.
"I think it is essential people take pride in their community and hanging baskets and flower arrangements certainly makes buildings and businesses more inviting.
"It also makes towns a more pleasant environment to work in and we will certainly be hoping and working hard to win the award for a second time next year."
Father and daughter Jim and Debbie Chapman used their own products to scoop the Best Kept Industrial Premises Award for the second time.
They run Second Time Around in Tyne Road where they refurbish and repair sanitary equipment.
Outside their premises a number of their products including toilets and hand basins are bursting with an assortment of flowers.
Pride in their street meant the Best Kept Road went to the residents of Banks Drive and the award was presented by Sandy mayor Cllr David Gale and Dr Baxter.
Special awards were presented to the Royal Mail Sorting Office, Shannon Court, Whitfield Associates, With Affection, Aragon Housing, Sandy Tourist Information Centre, Friends Hair Salon and Taylor's Estate Agents.
The Kings Arms in London Road was the Best Kept Pub/Restaurant in the town.
