A breastfeeding café at a Hitchin soft play area attracted more than 20 mums, tots and babies.

The session at The Secret Garden in Sun Street was staged in association with Medela, the world’s biggest breastfeeding brand.

The morning was such a hit parents were reluctant to leave with many staying chatting through lunch as they shared teas, and specially baked cupcakes shaped as breasts.

Organsiser Becky Christensen from the town’s York Road said: “I contacted Secret Garden and they were happy to host the event.

“I used social media to put the message across various platforms and sites and more than 20 mums turned up with their children.

“We had a real spectrum of parents, some mothers came with four-week old babies, and others with slightly older children. It was a positive, open environment.”

Becky, who also writes her own lifestyle and parenting blog called Wishes and Wellies, took her two children to the event –Flynn, who will be three next month and eight month old Freya. She added: “A big thank you to everyone who came, and to Secret Garden for hosting.”
