A 15-year-old boy had his bike stolen after being threatened with a knuckle duster in Letchworth on Tuesday night.

At around 10.30pm, the boy, who lives in Letchworth, was riding his bike along Broadway with a friend.

When the two young cyclists reached the fountains in Broadway Gardens a man, who had been sat on a bench, asked the boy to hand over his bike.

When the victim refused, the offender lifted his hand and showed what is believed to have been a knuckle duster.

The teenager handed over his bike, with the offender riding off towards the town centre with two other men.

The thief is described as a black man in his early to mid-20s who was around 6ft 2ins tall and wearing a black tracksuit, hooded top and baseball cap. The other two men were white, in their late teens and between 5ft 8ins and 6ft tall.
