An 11-year-old boy is due in court this morning accused of causing more than £25,000 of damage to a Stevenage school by starting a fire.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court charged with the offence which occurred at Marriotts School in Brittain Way on November 5 of last year.
The fire set off the school’s sprinkler system causing extensive water damage, and forced it to close until the following Monday.
