Mansfield Town have stepped in to sign Michael Brough on a season-long loan.
Boro had wanted to extend the 28-year-old's loan spell at The Lamex Stadium but couldn't agree terms with Brough's parent club, Torquay United.
The Stags have stepped into the breach and Brough told The Herald Express that he is looking forward to regular first team football.
"I have really enjoyed the club, the lads here are brilliant and it's a great place to live.
"But I'm a footballer, and I want to play regularly. That's been missing for me.
