CHILDREN at Woolenwick Infant School have been doing their bit for creepy crawlies in the area.

Pupils have been learning about 'mini-beasts' such as bees, caterpillars, grasshoppers, worms and slugs after joining the RSPB Wildlife Explorer Club.

They have also been feeding birds, making homes for the mini-beasts, being environmentally friendly, saving water and electricity.

A school spokesman said: "We will be working towards eco school status next term and the fact that we have an environmental club will go towards our meeting the success criteria.
