Birmingham City are closing in on a deal to sign Stevenage’s Jack Storer.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who signed his first professional contract with Stevenage in September, made his debut for Boro as a late substitute at Leyton Orient in August aged just 17 years and 229 days.

Storer came to Stevenage as a 15-year-old from Wolves and now looks likely to be heading back to the Midlands.

He is one of a group of players who have broken through from the club’s academy set-up over the past 18 months, a group that also includes Ben Kennedy and Dale Gorman.
