A Letchworth woman is 100 not out.
Millie Kelly, who received birthday greetings from the Queen, moved to Letchworth GC from Glasgow half a century ago, and has reached the milestone to the delight of her family.
The eldest of 13 brothers and sisters, Mrs Kelly has lived through two world wars and a changing royal family. She now lives at residential home Freeman House. Mrs Kelly started work aged 13 as a housekeeper and married in 1931. She and her four children relocated to Comet country in 1956.
Famed for her love of bingo, Mrs Kelly has become well known throughout the local community and enjoys spending time with her eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Her daughter, Margaret Steele, spoke of her pride for her mother saying: "Mum has always been kind and generous throughout her life and this is reflected in her popularity in the local community.
