A motorcyclist in his mid 30s and from Bedfordshire remains in a critical condition with head injuries in Lister Hospital after colliding with the central barrier on the A602 bypass between Stevenage and Hitchin on Thursday afternoon.
The road was closed for three hours after the incident at close to junction eight of the A1 (M).
Police say for reasons unknown the motorcyclist collided with the barrier. Investigation officers are now appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should contact Pc Anthony Winter on 01438 757655.
