Children at Biggleswade’s Busy Bees nursery got their hands on some life-saving equipment after a special visit from the town’s firefighters.
Crews from Biggleswade Community Fire Station visited the nursery in Bantock Way, bringing one of their engines with them.
The children donned fire helmets and got their hands on a water hose to put out imaginary fires, while learning about the fire crews’ work and some of their other equipment.
Nursery manager Sandra Bonfield said: “We’re really grateful to the fire service for taking time out of their day to visit our nursery and teach the children about their role.
“They all had a fantastic time pretending to be firefighters, squirting the water hose and learning so much in the process.
“Learning through play gives children the key skills to develop the foundations for learning so they can continue to achieve as they move into school life.”
