Crews from Biggleswade Community Fire Station visited the nursery in Bantock Way, bringing one of their engines with them.

The children donned fire helmets and got their hands on a water hose to put out imaginary fires, while learning about the fire crews’ work and some of their other equipment.

Nursery manager Sandra Bonfield said: “We’re really grateful to the fire service for taking time out of their day to visit our nursery and teach the children about their role.

“They all had a fantastic time pretending to be firefighters, squirting the water hose and learning so much in the process.
