A Biggleswade community group is set to get together for a litter pick next month, with everyone invited to join in.

Biggleswade Good Neighbours will be sprucing up the town from 9am on Saturday, September 9 – meeting at the Northfields communal room in Northfield Road.

The litter pick comes after the neighbours ran a cake stall as part of the Biggleswade Community Engagement Day on July 27.

A spokesman for the team said: “We had a great time talking to people about what we do, meeting new volunteers, and of course eating the delicious cakes that had been generously baked by the Good Neighbours team.

“Despite the intermittent rain, we raised a fantastic £60 – which will help to keep our vital phone service running, and pay for costs such as insurance and advertising.

“Events like these keep Biggleswade Good Neighbours running, and help our members to reach out to the community.”

Anyone who might benefit from the neighbours’ services – including help with shopping, lifts to appointments, light DIY, gardening, or just a friendly chat over a cup of tea – can get in touch on 07771 104255.
