The Biggleswade Good Neighbours held one of their most successful fundraisers at the town fire station’s open day.

The fundraisers provided cakes and biscuits baked by Good Neighbours volunteers in exchange for donations – and demand was so high they ran out before the end of the day.

The family day raised money for community groups and the Fire Fighters Charity.

Biggleswade Good Neighbours volunteer Alice Harding said: “Volunteering at this event and working closely with other local organisations creates a wonderful feeling of being part of something worthwhile within our town.”

Sandy Fire Station holds its open day this Sunday from 10am to 2pm. There will be a barbecue, kids’ games, a children’s fighter challenge assault course and much more.

The next Biggleswade Good Neighbours event is a litter pick on Saturday, September 29, from 9am to 12 noon. To find out more call 07771 104255.
