A man with a hammer smashed up windows at Biggleswade’s Crown Hotel in the early hours of this morning.
Police said the incident at the pub in the town’s High Street, part of the JD Wetherspoon chain, happened just after 1am this morning.
A spokeswoman for the Bedfordshire force said: “A man wearing a black jacket with the hood up and carrying an orange tool was seen walking towards Hitchin Street.”
A JD Wetherspoon spokesman said: “We can confirm that six windows at The Crown were deliberately smashed, late last night.
“The incident happened after the pub had closed at 12 midnight. Police attended the scene.
“Staff, who were still on the premises at the time, were understandably shaken by the incident, but thankfully no-one was injured.
“The windows, at the front of the building, have been boarded and are awaiting repair. The pub is open and operating as usual.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 and quote reference 15 of September 25.
