Would like to thank Mid Beds District Council especially Councillor Patricia Turner, Leader of the Council and Councillor Richard Holden for making it possible for the pensioners and disabled of Mid Beds to have free local bus travel with no restrictions, starting on April 1. Our campaign started in 2004 for free bus travel nationwide. It was very good news that our campaign was a success as announced in the recent budget, but it was very disappointing that there was no help with the Council Tax. We had hoped to get £200 toward the Council Tax cost for pensioners in the budget, but we intend to continue to campaign for help in the Council Tax cost. If you would like to become a member of our group, please contact Ken Lynch on 01767 681739.
