At the meeting held on Monday, July 10 the group looked briefly at the history and context of the story of Esther. Mike Ewings who led the group focused on the words that have been used as a headline for the account - for such a time as this. They looked at how Esther - at such a time risked her life to save her people, the Jews from proposed extermination. Having considered some of the details of the whole story and the indications of God's masterminding the whole ( though his name is not mentioned in this book), the group discussed some of the ways in which the principles might be applied in our lives, in our times. The next BSF meeting will be held on Monday, September 11 at Fowler's Farm, Meppershall when Rev Phil Snelson leads the group in the first of four studies on The Lord God of Elijah. A sponsored walk around Henlow is also being planned for Saturday, October 7, details nearer the time.
