BEE keepers have been called into Stevenage town centre to deal with a swarm.
A pedestrian area by Tesco and the Hotel Ibis in the Forum has been cordoned off while environmental specialists from the borough council in protective suits deal with the insects.
A council spokesman said the swarm of several thousand honey bees were migrating with a new queen when they landed on a shrubbery bed by the supermarket.
The bees were collected and have been released away from the town centre.
