One of the most important skills you can learn will be on offer for free on Sunday.

As part of its Save a Life campaign St John Ambulance will be giving life-saving lessons at its headquarters in Stevenage.

Brian Wingate, county executive officer for the charity said: “You never know when you may need it. With basic first aid skills, anyone can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.”

The charity estimates 150,000 people die every year in the UK in cases where first aid could have saved their life, with two thirds of the population unsure of what to do in a medical emergency.

The half hour sessions take place at The White House, Argyle Way from 11am until 2pm.
