Hertfordshire has its own housing problems and could be faced with using green belt land of its own expansion. To have a neighboring county also grab greenfield land from Hertfordshire is totally wrong. If Bedfordshire needs to build further housing to conform to the government's requirements then it should be incumbent on them to do so in their own county. Luton and Bedfordshire's own planning research reports state that the proposed area is not suitable and that there are several areas in Bedfordshire that are better than the selfish land grab being made within Hertfordshire.

Who will pay for the infrastructure such as roads, health services, doctors, policing, lighting, schools, water supply, drainage & sewerage, is this going to fall on North Hertfordshire rate payers!

Where does such a land grab end, should Hertfordshire put in a planning request to build the west of Stevenage development in the south of Bedfordshire? Such a proposal would be quite feasible as according to Bedfordshire's own studies the infrastructure their already exists.

I strongly oppose this development by Luton and Bedfordshire.
